New Products

I've been going a little bit crazy lately on the hair-care-products-front. Here's what I got recently:

Lush "No Drought" Dry Shampoo
Ingredients:  Zea Mays Cob Powder, Magnesium Carbonate, Talc, Parfüm, Citrus Paradisi Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantifolia Oil, Citral, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool.

I have to admit I'm not a massive fan of dry shampoos but I also have to admit that they come in handy sometimes. I had one in a spray bottle which worked alright but I always had the feeling that a lot more of this stuff ends up on my bathroom tiles and the floor than on my hair. So I thought I give this a try. It can be applied with your fingers or even a powder brush. I have only tried this once since I bought it so I can't really say much about it yet.

The Body Shop Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter
Ingredients: Aqua, Cetearyl Alcohol, Distearoylethyl Hydroxyethylmonium Methosulfate, Olea Europaea (Fruit Oil), Parfum, Phenoxyethanol, Cetyl Esters, Glycerin, Schinziophyton Rautanenii (Kernel Oil), Benzoic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Salicylic Acid, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Mel, Pentaclethra Macroloba (Seed Oil), Sodium Benzoate, Tocopherol

Before my dandruff problems have started I have been using the Rainforest Moisture shampoo for quite a while and I really liked it a lot. I've never tried the hair butter so here we go! I haven't tried this yet.

Weleda Weizen Shampoo (anti-dandruff)
Ingredients: Water, Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Disodium Coco-Glucoside Citrate, Sodium Lauroyl Oat Amino Acids, Alcohol, Glycerin, Fragrance, Xanthan Gum, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Glyceryl Caprylate, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Sodium PCA, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Ruscus Aculeatus Root Extract, Viola Tricolor Extract, Lactic Acid, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Sucrose Laurate, PCA Glyceryl Oleate, Arginine, Sodium Phytate, Limonene, Linalool, Geraniol, Coumarin.

My beloved Alpecin Hypo-Sensitive shampoo which I have been using for a while now is discontinued and I wasn't even able to get it online. So it's time to move on and find a decent match which isn't so easy. If I want a sulfate-free one again I have to go for an organic product. I found out that much. I'm not sure if an organic product will be quite as effective since Alpecin is a company that has been making anti-dandruff products for many years. So when I found this little sample of the Weleda Weizen shampoo yesterday I thought this was perfect. This way I can try it and see how my scalp reacts to it without having to spend a lot of money for a big bottle.
